HOW IT ALL STARTED
Fahr Industries Ltd was started up by Andy Hoddle and
Russell Funnell in 2001, and this is where the name "Fahr"
came from - Funnell, Andy,
Hoddle, Russell.
Both Andy and Russell had worked within the play industry
for a number of years prior to this, and realized that there
was an opportunity to supply HDPE panels and components to
companies within the play industry, providing high quality
products with a good service and at a reasonable price.
Andy had already sold his old Company "Tayplay" by this time
to his former employees, had spent a year with his
family in Australia working and having fun, but Andy was now
looking for a new challenge. Starting up Fahr with
Russell seemed the next logical step. Russell meanwhile was and still
is the Managing Director of the playground company
"Fawns" in the UK and so it was decided right from the
beginning that Fahr would be set up and run as a completely
separate company with just Russell as the common link, being
directors of both companies. To this day both the companies
are completely separate and Fawns is now one of Fahr's
customers.
By 2003 the pull
of Australia had got the better of Andy and his family and
they decided to emigrate later that year leaving Russell and
his wife Katrina to completely take over the company by
buying Andy's shares. Andy has since started another
very successful play company in Australia called Kaebel Leisure
manufacturing playground equipment products and components.
WHAT FAHR DOES
As suppliers of HDPE panels,
products and components exclusively to playground industry
trade companies in the UK and Europe, Fahr Industries is
particularly focused on listening to what our customers want
and looking at what our customers need to enhance their own
play products and schemes.
As you would expect this comes with a huge amount of
responsibility for Fahr, requiring a high level of integrity
and the protection of our customers IP rights which is an
important factor when entrusting us with your own designs.
Product Design
We provide a complete product design and manufacturing
service. Choose from our standard range of
HDPE Panels or submit your
ideas in a sketch, image or CAD format for us to turn your
ideas into reality. We naturally use the word “customers”,
but because we work so closely with many of our customers,
they are more like “partners” to us - If we can make
their products a success then we can be a success!
CNC Machining
With the use of modern, sophisticated CNC machines and
CAD/CAM design facilities, Fahr Industries is able to create
simple or complicated machined panels and components, all
within tight tolerances and to a high quality finish, time
and time again. We also have planned investment into new
machinery to further increase our capabilities and to expand
on the products that we can offer.

different games, activities and panels for fun and education
for you to choose from. With new designs being created all
the time we should have something that you are looking for,
